Kerala cuisine is varied and wonderful. But the sad fact is that it is not very widely known unlike its North Indian cuisine counterparts. We would like to make a small attempt to introduce and maybe make popular, some healthy, easy to cook and not to mention mouth-watering dishes.
Sreelakshmi Panakkal conducted a demo of some special Kerala dishes. 6 people indicated their interest in attending the event and took part in all the activities starting from prepping the ingredients to the actual cooking. The dishes all turned out declicious and was enjoyed by all.
On the menu was…
- Rice – called matta rice which is a more healthier version as it has bit of husk on it.
- Chappati – Flatbread made of wheat
- Chemmeen curry (Prawn curry)
- Cabbage thoran (Lightly spiced and sautéed shredded cabbage)
- Sambar which is an amazing and healthy curry made with lentils and vegetables.
